The thing that struck me most as I was preparing to teach on the whole of Romans 6 was how Paul moved the discussion from a theological argument to a practical discussion. We don’t walk away from sin because of some deep philosophy but because we gain an understanding of who we really are and why we’re really here. I’m going to try this out the next time I’m dealing with one of my key temptations. “Is that who I really am?” Could be powerful.
The truth that stood out to me this week is that we should live to glorify God, just as Christ Himself is doing. I do this when I hold nothing in my life back from Him, but trust Him to lead and guide me.
